Who is God?
He is the worthy Creator
  • In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
  • Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11)
 He is holy in perfection
  • He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He. (Deuteronomy 32:4)
  • And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. (Isaiah 6:3)
  • For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. (Psalm 5:4)

What is sin?
Sin is breaking God's law
  • Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. (1 John 3:4)
  • Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. (Psalm 51:4)
Sinners deserve Hell
  • The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23a)
  • But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8)
You have rejected God in sin
  • Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5:12)
  • And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19)
  • For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. (James 2:10-13)
Who is Jesus Christ?
He is completely God and completely Man
  • But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,  (Galatians 4:4)
  • And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)
He died a sinless death on your behalf
  • But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
  • For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: (1 Peter 3:18)
How do I believe?
It is through faith alone
  • For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
  • Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. (Romans 3:28)
Faith leads to confession
  • That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
  • If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Confession coinsides with repentance (changed life)
  • I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Luke 5:32)
  • I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3)
